Damaged:Symptoms of a broken heart

brokenheartIf you are in your late teens or in your early twenties you may have been a victim of this syndrom:  The Broken Heart syndrome.

Even if you are not within this age bracket, i’m sure you can relate.

It’s a silent, translucent syndrome that plagues your eating habits, emotional health and creates some semi-permanent psychological issues for you (in some cases).

If you or a loved one is  exhibiting the symptoms mentioned below, it could be because you both are facing a break up, divorce,  death of a loved one, rejection, being rejected, moving, etc..

So, here are the clues:

  • Insomnia ( a lot or a lil)
  • Loss of appetite ( nature’s way of shedding the pounds)
  • Nostalgia
  • Shock
  • Apathy
  • Anxiety attacks
  • Low self-esteem/ self-respect
  • Hopelessness and despair
  • Depression
  • Blood shot eyes from sleepless nights
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Crying a river ( Like that Justin Timberlake Music Video)
  • Extreme feelings of emptiness

I assure you, you will not feel this way forever. All people vary and sometimes it my take   two months to a few years but remember– but this isn’t the end of your life.  Get a hobby, take a class, make friends or even start a blog.

Life’s too short to dwell on the past.  Yes, that relationship gave you delicious memories of watching “Golden Girls” together  and you both had what no one else had. But it’s over, so wave Goodbye.
